Scupper bungs are available that will help keep the majority of water at bay and stop it from coming up through the scuppers. Another option is your clothing options (dry wear), these items also allow you to extend your paddling season into the colder months too.
You can indeed. However, we always suggest that you paddle within your own ability and plan accordingly, make yourself aware of the tidal and weather conditions, as to not get caught out. If in any doubt, seek some tuition from a qualified coach.
In most cases your Tootega kayaks can be repaired through a process called Plastic Welding. If you are unfortunate enough to need a repair, either send us some photos or give us a call and we can advise on the best course of action from there.
Keep it simple. A standard roof rack (bars that’s go the width of the vehicle) is more than adequate to transport your kayak to and from the water, positioned upside down and secured using a pair of buckle straps. If you have many friend and need to transport a few, you can attach an Upright Bar to the roof rack.

Our kayaks are made from polyethylene, which benefits from a really high abrasion and impact rating.
You can, however at Tootega we always suggest a trolley that supports the kayak from underneath, and not the ones that go up through the scupper holes, as they risk damaging the hull.
A good bucket of warm soapy water, a sponge and hose down (or pressure washer is it’s really stubborn). Its especially good to clean your kayak after use to help prevent the spread of invasive species to our local water ways.
